Story: Radar was rescued from a shelter in North Carolina. We are so happy to have him safe and sound in a foster home in the DC area now. Radar is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. He knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with his humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Radar is just looking for someone to be his new best furend and we know that he will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Like all dogs, Radar will need an adopter who is committed to setting him up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising him both mentally and physically. He will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive!
What my foster says: Radar is a happy dog who can go with the flow! He thrives on a regular routine and typically goes for a walk in the morning and has his breakfast afterwards. Most of the day he will lounge around on the couch or floor napping or chewing on one of his toys or bones independently. When someone arrives home from work or when work from home hours are over he goes out for another walk and receives his dinner afterwards. I tend to take him out at lunchtime for a short sniff and pee break when I work from home and he also goes out for a pee break before bed. Radar loves his daily walks and would likely thrive living with another dog. He also does well at the dog park and it’s a good way to get energy out and socialize. He sleeps through the night in his dog bed next to my bed and doesn’t make a peep until he knows you’re awake in the morning. He is fully house trained, he doesn’t chew on anything other than his own toys, and knows commands - sit, down, stay, paw, and speak (woof) and is continuing to work on place and has made great progress with it. Once he settles in somewhere he becomes much more cuddly and will want to be near you more. He loves his ears, neck and belly scratched!
The fee to adopt Radar is $475. That covers the cost of all his vaccines, his neuter, the collar he’s wearing, his transport to DC and his care in his foster home. He’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines.
