Story: Sawyer was rescued from a shelter in North Carolina with his brother and sister. We are so happy to have them safe and sound in a foster home in the DC area now. Sawyer is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. He knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with his humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Sawyer is just looking for someone to be his new best furend and we know that he will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Like all dogs, Sawyer will need an adopter who is committed to setting him up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising him both mentally and physically. He will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive!

What my foster says: Sawyer, Coconut and Kiwi are all very loving and adorable and give lots of kisses. They are doing alright with trying to go potty outside - most of them will go when we first get outside, but obviously they're still using the puppy pads a lot too! We've had four different visitors (in addition to the three different people who live in this house) and they've done very well with all of them. Kiwi and Coconut are very good at playing with each other and wrestle a lot - Sawyer is still getting the hang of being with other puppies and is sometimes confused when the others yap at him because he is chewing on their legs/tails. They all tend to sleep in a puppy puddle together. Sawyer is a very sweet little guy who just wants to hang out with you! If you pick him up, he'll lay his head right on your chest while you walk around.

The fee to adopt Sawyer is $475. That covers the cost of all his vaccines, the collar he’s wearing, his transport to DC and his care in his foster home. He’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines. Sawyer has been seen by a shelter vet and was given a clean bill of health.
