Story: Sugar is a super sweetie. She walks easily on leash, doesn’t pull. Just strolls calmly. She’s a funny girl and will “toss” toys to herself once comfortable in a space and likes to remove the squeakers. She’s great with being left alone or in a separate space if needed. She’s been great with using the bathroom outside, and is crate trained. Sugary is low energy. Likes just lounging and snoozing inside. And apparently really enjoys watching TV, especially shows with animals like animal planet or shows about zoos or vets. She’d be a perfect dog for a first time adopter - just a sweet, friendly, easy companion!
What my foster says: Sugar lives up to her name- she’s a super sweet gal looking for her forever home. Don’t let her age fool you- she loves a good romp around the yard and to play, but also happily curls up on the couch. Sugar loves to be around humans and say hi to dogs of all shapes and sizes. She does really well in her crate but would equally join you on the couch or bed. Sugar is crated during the day while her humans are at work and does great with a midday dog walk. She loves outside time and never wants to come in from the backyard, but would settle for a window to look out of and observe the world. She does well with cats that know how to set boundaries. Sugar is a bit scared of the vacuum and thunder and surprises, but will very happily snuggle on the couch to get away from them. She’s met kids and done well- we think she previously lived with them.
The fee to adopt Sugar is $350. That covers the cost of all her vaccines, her spay, the collar she’s wearing, her transport to DC and her care in her foster home. She’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines.
