Story: Wilbur was rescued from a shelter in South Carolina with two of his littermates. We are so happy to have him safe and sound in a foster home in the DC area now. Wilbur is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. He knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with his humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Wilbur is just looking for someone to be his new best furend and we know that he will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Like all dogs, Wilbur will need an adopter who is committed to setting him up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising him both mentally and physically. He will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive!
What my foster says: Wilbur is a very smart and sweet puppy. While he has the usual puppy mischief, he is very eager to please, listens to instructions (when he isn't distracted by something), and is incredibly warm and friendly. He has no signs of trauma, and gets along great with our two dogs, as well is with people, both strangers and our family. We've had him now for four days, and he is already comfortable and confident. He wants to learn and his instincts seem to encourage him to please and to learn. He prefers company, and loves both people and other dogs. But, he’s learning quickly how to be OK alone and is settling in really nicely!
The fee to adopt Wilbur is $475. That covers the cost of all his vaccines, the collar he’s wearing, his transport to DC and his care in his foster home. He’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines.
