TWYLA

Name: Twyla

Sex: Female

Estimated Age: About 2-3 years old

Best Guess for Breed: Plott Hound/Lab Mix

Weight: About 50 lbs

Good With: Dogs and people - we haven’t tested her around kids or cats, but if you have them let us know!

Story: Twyla was rescued from a shelter in North Carolina originally. She was adopted out for a time, but has now been returned and is looking for a new home. Twyla is a super sweetie that loves all people and dogs. She knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with her humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Twyla is just looking for someone to be her new best furend and we know that she will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. As a young dog, Twyla will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. She will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive!

PERFECT FAMILY: A home with a family that gives Twyla a lot of love, preferably with a big yard outside for her to run around and play with her toys as she has a lot of energy, typical of a young dog. Twyla loves her treats and snacks, being very food motivated.  Twyla loves when guests come over, she immediately wants to come say hi and is super friendly.

PERFECT HOME: One with a fenced in yard away from the bustling city would be ideal, but she’s pretty adaptable.

EXERCISE NEEDS: Twyla gets most of her exercise from walks and zoomies outside. She adores tugging with other dogs, and chasing them around the backyard/dogpark. Twyla is leash trained (loose leash) and obeys to the command “heal”.

BEHAVIOR IN HOME: Twyla is as sweet and friendly as can be! She loves nothing more than receiving cuddles and being outdoors. She loves all her human and furry friends alike. She is very food motivated and will learn any trick if treats are involved. She would be the perfect addition to any family as she has no issues with humans or other animals.  Twyla is potty trained, and crate trained.  Twyla understands and listens to the following commands: sit, down, off, heal, kennel.

CRATE: Twyla is crate trained she will sleep and relax there during the day when you need to leave her in the house alone. Twyla prefers sleeping on her dog bed or next to the person for a more cuddling atmosphere but can sleep in the crate without a peep if needed.
